Roy Sheppard
For more than a decade Roy was a BBC network radio and TV presenter/anchor and reporter. He has years of live radio and TV experience under his belt. He knows what producers want and he delivers it with energy, humour and gravitas. He works well to time, will make your host look and sound good. He has presented news, current affairs and light features – mostly live, often without a script.
Indeed, he was so trusted by producers on a BBC 1 networked daytime show where he was a reporter, the 100+ page programme script would often simply read “ROY AD-LIB CHAT + GUEST(S) DUR: 12 MINUTES". And that was it.
These days he uses his live experience to moderate/facilitate detailed panel discussions at massi
ve international conferences for global companies such as; British American Tobacco, Hewlett Packard, KPMG, Linklaters, Lovells, Nortel Networks and many more. In 2008 he moderated the world's largest industry conference in Las Vegas for 53,000 delegates. He is engaged repeatedly by these and many other clients. His own business website is www.RoySpeaks.com
He is also the author of these books:” The DJs Handbook” (a broadcasting textbook), Your Personal Survival Guide to the 21st Century”, “Press Pause on your Life” (for HarperCollins) “Rapid Result Referrals”, “Meet Greet & Prosper” and now “Venus: The Dark Side”.
He is loathe to admit this, but he qualifies for the title ‘a veteran broadcaster’ having presented countless BBC Network radio and TV shows. He has hosted shows on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 as well as London’s largest talk station LBC Radio.
